Renault is trying to calm fears that the wholly-owned Renault Retail Group would dominate its hub alliance structure by indicating that Nissan dealers would control some territories.

A Renault spokesman said the restructuring policy was still being discussed, but he suggested plans were in place for a Nissan dealer to acquire one of the Renault Retail Group's 20 outlets.

“The network plans have not been finalised, but it is possible Nissan dealers will be given some hub areas,” he said.

Renault Retail Group, expected to play a key role in the new structure, acquired a Nissan outlet in Wolverhampton last year under the hub agreement.
