Autobytel UK's CEO Kevin Turnbull has been made its chairman with greater responsiblity for the organisation's European operations.

In his new role he will take on a more strategic role, concentrating on developing partnerships in the UK and the development of Inchape's investments in Autobytel Europe.

He will relinquish responsibility for the running of the Autobytel UK subsidiary but will remain involved in its business strategy as chairman and will continue as Inchcape Group e-commerce director.

Operational management of Autobytel UK will pass to Darren Payne, in his new position as managing director. He will report to Chris Franklin, CEO of Inchcape.

Mr Payne joined Autobytel UK last year as commercial director.
