Co-Op Motor Group in Littleover, part of the Ilkeston Consumer Co-Op, has completed a £120,000 refurbishment to its site.

The dealership's refurbishment coincides with the opening of additional Mazda and Hyundai showrooms on the Co-Op Motor Group's 7.2-acre site on the Sir Frank Whittle Way in Derby.

This latest investment is part of an ongoing refurbishment programme in the East Midlands. So far this year, Co-Op Motor Group has invested £1.7 million in the region.

Other investment projects by Co-Op Motor Group in 2001 include the £600,000 restoration of the former Ilkestone police station into a new head office, and a £250,000 investment in the Sir Frank Whittle site. David Fry, dealer principal at the Littleover site, said: “This is good news for the people of Derby. Not only has the existing Mazda and Hyundai site been improved considerably, we now are far more accessible than before.” Co-Op Motor Group spokesman David Shirt added: “We have been growing phenomenally quickly, with new registrations up considerably on the industry average. I put this down to the added value customer service we provide.” Co-Op Motor Group in Littleover is located on Burton Road, Derby.
