Vauxhall and Volkswagen have launched initiatives to help their dealers sell more parts to independent repairers and bodyshops over the summer.

Vauxhall is offering lower prices on brake discs – discount vouchers provide reductions of £37.50 off vented discs and £10 off solid discs – as well as exhausts, oil and coolants. The company estimates it is making £3.5m of discounts available.

Dealers will increase stock levels to meet the anticipated demand for the brake disc promotion, which runs until September.

Jim Williams, Vauxhall trade programmes manager, said: “The new brake disc campaign is one of the most ambitious product marketing campaigns we have yet mounted. With many attractive discounts on other products still in place, opportunities for increased profitability for our dealers have never been better.”

Volkswagen, meanwhile, has cut prices on a range of fast-moving service and repair parts, targeting Parts Club members. Products available include braking, electrical, clutch, exhaust and steering equipment for a range of models.

Parts Club membership is free for independent garages and bodyshops who contact their nearest VW dealer to join.
