Swansea-based Sinclair Van Centre has become the first British commercial vehicle outlet to win the prestigious Volkswagen Quality Management Standard (VQMS).

The VQMS focuses on 'best in class' practise, not only in customer satisfaction and retention, but in all key areas of retailer activity including people development, staff welfare and the environment.

So far, 3,900 dealers have achieved the standard since it was introduced to the German market in 1994.

Peter Wyhinny, director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: "The team at Sinclair has every right to feel proud of being the first UK van centre to achieve VQMS.

"It means they have achieved a very high standard in every aspect of their business, and we have a programme inp lace for all our van centres to become VQMS-compliant."
