Pendragon is taking its internet brand tins.co.uk to the regions by opening six car supermarkets.

Branded as Tins Car Supermarkets, the six sites in Birmingham, Stoke, Manchester, Leeds, Doncaster and Hull will offer the same deals as the Tins website, www.tins.co.uk, with a range of used cars at discounts of up to £6,500 per vehicle.

"We have had a very good reaction from customers visiting our Tins website who want to purchase a value for money car in the knowledge of it being supplied by the UK's largest retailer," says Trevor Finn, chief executive at Tins Car Supermarkets.

"By opening Tins Car Supermarkets we are catering to those customers who are more comfortable feeling and touching a car before they buy it."

Finn is confident the move will strengthen the Tins brand: "Buyers can drive the car away there and then, rather than spend weeks on end waiting for delivery."" The 160-strong Pendragon dealer group will look at extending the Tins network in 2002.
