Autobytel and Inchcape Retail in company car deal, the online car buying service, has teamed up with vehicle remarketers Inchcape Direct to give consumers the opportunity to buy from its stock of ex-fleet, contract hire, leasing and daily rental vehicles.

Consumers can search on the new 'trade sales' service by price band, make or size to find the specific car they want from a choice of quality, multi marque, ex fleet cars. All the cars have had a full service and maintenance history, mileage verification, clean title checks, 12-month MoT certificate, three-month warranty and money back guarantees.

All the 'trade sales' cars are reconditioned and in the pilot programme these vehicles have proved to be in high consumer demand, says Autobytel.

This service presents a new opportunity for contract hire, leasing and daily rental companies who have an ongoing vehicle remarketing requirement and enables direct access to thousands of consumers.

Autobytel's chairman Kevin Turnbull said: “Autobytel aims to put consumers in the driving seat and giving them direct access to this previously inaccessible choice of high quality ex-fleet cars at very competitive prices, will ensure our consumers find the precise car they are looking for without the hassle.”

Simon Everett, Inchcape Direct operations director, said: “We view the internet as an ideal channel to remarket our cars directly to the consumer and have seen sales to date achieve an average in excess of Cap clean value and this is something no other channel has been able to deliver.”
