Kalamazoo Computer Group plc has announced that chief executive Malcolm Roberts. He had held the post since 1998. No reason was given for his leaving.

Fred Wright, currently sales and operations director, will take up the new position of chief operating officer. He has been on the management board for three and half years.

A Kalamazoo statement acknowledged Mr Roberts' contribution to the development of the group had been "significant".

Commenting on the changes, Bob Jordan, Kalamazoo chairman, said: "The Kalamazoo board is grateful for Malcolm's significant contribution to the reshaping of the business. We wish him well in the future.

"Fred Wright is an experienced business leader and we are confident that Kalamazoo has the management team to deliver the business improvements demanded in the marketplace.

"In his new role Mr Wright will have full responsibility for leading all operational aspects of our business. The finance function will be led by Margaret Ashworth, who will report to myself."
