DaimlerChrysler UK has sold its Milton Keynes retail outlets Mercedes-Benz Portway for an undisclosed amount to United Auto Group of the US.

UAG, an automotive retailer with turnover around £8bn, will now manage the dealership for DCUK, which said it was “delighted” with the move.

Dermot Kelly, Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars director, said: “United Auto's experience will undoubtedly help in improving the service we give our customers.

“The company has experience in a large, mature market and is well known for approaching business challenges with innovative new ideas.

“All our retail partners are experts in UK car retailing, so the exchange of best practice ideas will benefit everyone.”

UAG intends to take on the current staff workforce.
