Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK is recruiting a new managing director following Steve Zanlunghi’s move to become president and chief executive of FCA Australia.

Zanlunghi’s role also included being head of Jeep brand for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Zanlunghi is an Australian national and joined FCA in 1997 working in Chrysler’s customer center, before being appointed to a number of senior executive positions across the US and Europe.

He was named FCA UK’s managing director in July 2012, while at the same time being appointed chairman of FCA Ireland.

FCA UK said the responsibility for the UK market will be the subject of a future announcement.

The UK business restructured its senior management team in June last year and it is in the middle of FCA's five-year plan to significanlty grow the business across the world.
