The LPG fuel market will be given an important boost with the launch of a new grant system by the Government - targeted at increasing the number of approved LPG converters in rural areas. The first £1m in grant aid was announced by Energy Minister Brian Wilson this week. “This is an essential step in ensuring that there is a supply chain which can meet the demand that I want to encourage,” he said at Inverness.

The announcement was timed to coincide with the launch of the new LPG Vauxhall Vectra. The £1 million will be targeted at the LPG conversion specialist network in the Highlands and Islands, mid and NW Wales, East Anglia and Cornwall.
