East Midlands dealer group Gordon Lamb has invested £2m in a new Toyota showroom, featuring the carmaker's new retail concept, at its three-acre, multi-franchised site in Sheffield. Gordon Lamb has invested £4m in the premises over the past 12 months. It accommodates eight carmakers, including Mitsubishi, Saab, MG Rover and a Motorsport showroom featurng Morgan, Lotus and Noble. Work on a Daihatsu dealership is to begin shortly.

David Dillon, Gordon Lamb group managing director, expects the company to exceed £100m turnover this year.

He said: "The general picture is of continued evolution and growth, but we still maintain the values on which the business was built - trust and understanding customers' needs."

Stephen Lamb, dealer principal of the multi-franchised site said the new infrastructure put the company in a strong position to "face the challenges of increased competition from Block Exemption."
