AM relaunch editor Angus MacKenzie has been appointed editor at leading monthly automotive consumer magazine Car.

MacKenzie, a former editor of Australia's biggest-selling car title Wheels, was responsible for merging the best of trade titles Automotive Management and AutoTrade into AM, which was relaunched in April, and for overseeing the development of the respected Sewells brand. He will retain an executive editor's role on AM.

“I'm pleased to be continuing my association with AM,” he says. “My aim was to create a publication that reflected the dynamism and energy of the automotive industry, gave real insight into and analysis of industry issues, and provided a forum for discussion and debate. The current AM team is more than capable of building on that vision.”

Automotive Trade Group news editor Stephen Briers becomes acting group editor during the selection process for a new editor. He will continue to develop the AM brand, giving executives the most complete overview of the industry, from retailing to manufacturing, the supplier sector and the aftermarket.

“Angus has done an excellent job in creating a new must-read publication for the motor industry,” says Briers. “We will now continue to push the newspaper forward.”
