Vauxhall has reduced the list of standard equipment on its new Vectra without changing the car's list price.

Just six months after the model was launched, the GM-owned carmaker has removed the glove box lock from all 2003 Vectras and seat back lock on saloons, sparking fears the insurance group could rise.

Vauxhall has also axed passenger seat height and lumbar adjusters, sunglasses holder, rear cup holders and the illuminated driver's side vanity mirror.

“While we have not changed the car's list price, the money will be invested into other areas of the Vectra, but it is too early to say what they will be,” says a spokesman.
