The new Micra is to get a surreal TV ad treatment, courtesy of film director David Lynch. The ads will feature a new language – 'Micra' – which encapsulates the car's innovations.

The ads, which are set to be screened in up to 30 countries this month, will be launched on UK TV on January 15. The new vocabulary will include spafe (spontaneous + safe); simpology (simple + technology); smig (small + big); aggrendly (aggressive + friendly).

The ads, which include an environment lit by French director of photography Jean-Yves Escoffier, will feature a pair of giant blue lips mouthing the words.
