Nationwide Autocentres, the independent service and maintenance network, is to use the 1link service network across its 190 outlets.

The e-commerce platform is already used in 75 of its sites and will be rolled out across the rest of the network this month as part of a strategy to increase the company's throughput of fleet business.

Gwyn Jones, Nationwide director, says: “We handle about 10,000 cars and light vans every week and a large proportion of this business comes from fleet customers. Through the 1link service network, we expect to be able to access even more corporate business because a high number of contract hire companies use the system.”

The system will improve communication links with customers and allow Nationwide to track repairs.
