Daihatsu has appointed its 60th new UK dealership, bringing its total UK network to 92.

Daihatsu says it's busy processing applications from prospective dealers across the UK and looks set to have a 100-strong network by the year-end. Operations Director, Paul Hegarty, said: "As car buyers continue to shift away from large cars towards smaller, more fuel efficient ones, we are seeing a continuing rise in the number of dealerships interested in our specialist range of compact cars."

The 60th new dealership to be appointed since February 2000, when West Midlands-based Daihatsu Vehicle Distributors Ltd. took over the UK operation, is Clemo Daihatsu at Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire.

Other recent appointments include; CVC Cardiff; Foxfield at Wigan; Thurlow Nunn Standen at Downham Market; K.T. Green at Pool in Wharfdale; Dennis Common at Longframlington; Express Garage at Herne Bay; Parkside in Bolton; Cross Keys at Morley; Prestons Garages at Writtle in Essex; Meredith & Kirkham at Colwyn Bay; Seward at New Milton; Ken Jervis in Stoke on Trent; WJH Motors at Bedford and Penfold Motors in London (SE12).
