The firm says it has negotiated sustainable wholesale terms with 'willing suppliers' including manufacturer-owned or managed outlets, manufacturers' fleet and business sales subsidiaries, franchised dealers - and some recently disenfranchised and now independent dealers. UKsupplied promises retailers gross margins of up to 30% - inclusive of pre-delivery inspection and mainland UK delivery to end users; alternatively, retail partners can earn referral commission of up to £150 per completed sale.
The Web-based UKsupplied proposition offers independents and dealers vehicle specification and residual value data in a consumer website template designed to be branded by its retail partners. Ready-made UKsupplied websites display can display manufacturer list and discounted prices, or a profit margin calculator accessible only to the retailer. UKsupplied retailers will be supported by a dedicated call centre.
The websites will also list and illustrate up to 250 cars in a used car search engine, quoting P/Ex values based on the firm's continuously updated fleet disposals database.
Behind UKsupplied is Simon Empson of former 'parallel' car importer Broadspeed, and Denis Keenan, the MD of Keeresources, a residual value data provider to the leasing industry. Empson says, “Through UKsupplied, we can now make new cars accessible to retailers to whom they have been denied until now. Independent traders are now in a position to offer consumers unparalleled value on a wide range of new cars.
”We are providing an additional channel to market for new cars, and the realities of the market mean that we are actually able to offer fleet discounts unavailable from the manufacturers' own franchise networks.”
The total annual cost to retailers of a UKsupplied new and used car website/maintenance package is quoted as £2,339 in the first year. A used car module upgrade covering used values for all UK-market vehicles from 1997-2003 is priced at £99 per month.
