MG Rover Group has become the first major car manufacturer to adopt a new Internet-based customer support and management reporting service from Experian.

Developed in conjunction with the used car operation at MG Rover, the system has been developed to ensure the consistent and effective use of provenance and mileage checks by used car dealers across an entire UK network.

Individual franchised MG Rover dealerships are now able to request further information about a vehicle check or complete a customer support query online, with the system automatically providing immediate answers to common queries. This reporting capability will also enable MG Rover managers responsible for overseeing nationwide used vehicle sales to monitor the dealer network's compliance with approved used car programme standards.

The arrangement also covers the extension of MG Rover's existing level of indemnity cover for Experian Car Data Checks. Dealerships will now be able to recover up to £50,000 of value lost in a second-hand vehicle (previously up to £30,000) in the event that Experian should fail to highlight a 'hidden history'
