Commercial vehicle hire firm Burnt Tree has placed one of the largest single fleet orders for Vauxhall commercial vehicles.

Burnt Tree, which currently operates a fleet of more than 7,000 commercial vehicles, has invested £3m in 2,500 Luton-built Vauxhall Vivaros – the largest single spend in new vehicles for rent in its 21-year history.

Burnt Tree’s managing director Keith Ashworth says: "We feel that Vauxhall now offers the best product at the most competitive prices. Vauxhall is seeking a partner in the rental industry and currently the manufacturer’s requirements are suited to our own – these hinge on purchase and operating costs, and also on residual values.”

Karl Howkins, Vauxhall’s rental operations manager, said all 2,500 vehicles will be delivered over the next 12 months.

The new vehicles are being supplied to Burnt Tree’s through the Greenhaus Vauxhall dealership in Shrewsbury, and will be available from all 14 Burnt Tree branches - they have one in Shrewsbury and Telford – in a variety of specifications.
