Finance, insurance and IT consultancy, Frontline Solutuions UK Ltd has teamed up with insurance brokersr First Call to offer dealers an option to cover their customers’ cars for seven days.

"The main aim of the scheme was to allow our dealers the opportunity to tax vehicles quicker and therefore reduce the lead time between order and handover,” says Andy Shuter, managing director of Frontline. "However, we have also found some other significant advantages for our dealers as many have used the scheme to ensure manufacturers' registration targets are achieved in the run up to the end of the month."

In order to benefit a dealer pays a registration fee and pledges "not to abuse" the scheme by selling cars to customers who would not normally be able to afford the on-going costs of the insurance premium. "An average premium for one week works out at about £35, but is refunded back to the dealer if the customer takes up the full quotation," adds Shuter.
