A 35-year-old, low mileage Mini once owned by a criminal associate of the Kray twins, was sold at BCA’s Christmas classic and historic sale for £11,775.

The 1969 Morris Mini Cooper S (pictured), finished in Snowberry white, had been impounded by the police early in its life before it was sold and stored by its new owner for some years.

Eighteen months ago the car was recommissioned and given an MoT for the first time. Mileage at the time of the BCA sale was 7,249.

BCA’s 2005 classic programme opens on February 21 with a sale at Blackbushe. Catalogue details are on the BCA website at www.classic-car-auction.co.uk.
