The Staffordshire-based automotive parts distributor Partsworld has been appointed an industrial distributor for GM engines, transmissions, injector pumps, trim and other components.

Partsworld will offer GM components to qualified customers in a range of industries, including non-automotive sectors.

Fairground rides, ski lifts and pogo sticks are some products already utilising GM components along with injector pumps for bakeries, seats for furniture designers and dashboard vents for air conditioning systems, but the automotive industry will be the largest customer for Partsworld’s GM portfolio, with motorsport and tuning businesses accessing more easily what it calls previously ‘difficult to come by’ engine parts and transmission assemblies.

For powertrain development engineering assurance to its customers, Partsworld works in partnership with Millbrook, GM’s wholly-owned engineering services business.

Partsworld is also known as a distributor for automotive parts for companies such as Piaggio, and stocks Reliant parts.
