Audi has officially unveiled its new face by taking the wraps off its new A6. Making its world debut at the Geneva motor show, the new luxury saloon will arrive here in May.

Engines are a 140bhp 2.0-litre TDI, a 225bhp 3.0-litre diesel from the A8, a 2.4-litre V6 petrol with 177bhp and a new 255bhp 3.2-litre FSI unit. New A6 will be more expensive than the outgoing model but will have more equipment.

In its first full year, Audi expects to sell 8,000 A6 saloons compared with 7,700 saloons and estates sold last year. Avant is due in 2005.
