A joint venture that promises to deliver efficient estimating processes, volume access to matching quality non-OE parts and improved profitability to bodyshops is being launched by SSVG, part of Unipart Automotive's Crash Repair Division.

The Estimate Interception System (EIS) has been designed by SSVG, and developed and hosted by software specialist Motoring4. The initial pilot is the result of collaboration between SSVG and AXA and a number of AXA's approved repairers.

The e-enabled system 'intercepts' bodyshop estimators' calculated estimates and processes them through EIS's matching parts rules filter to select alternative parts from SSVG's range, which includes over 7,000 parts references, including 3,500 from its Q part collision repair range. The system is designed to integrate with existing estimating systems.

SSVG Customer Services Department then telephones the bodyshop to review the selection and place the order. As part of its approved repairer programme, AXA is offering an increased margin on the use of the Q part range, which is claimed to 'healthily exceed' the margins available to repairers on OE parts.
