Growth in the number of vendors investing in vehicle valeting before putting them under the hammer has seen Manheim Auctions appoint PJM Valeting as its primary valeting supplier at 12 of its 18 sites.

The three-year contract will see PJM carry out around one million valeting jobs for Manheim vendors in that period. Manheim already offers a range of 10 separate valeting options from a basic pressure wash to a Mastervalet Plus, but the aim is to further extend its menu over the next few months.

To coincide with the contract win, PJM is extending its workforce by 25% across the 12 Manheim sites to meet the increase in demand.

“Manheim and PJM have had a strong working relationship for many years and we will continue to produce a consistently high level of valeting standards,” says David Mercer, Manheim's director of automotive services.”

Commenting on the contract win, PJM's managing director, Paul Moore says: “In the coming year we plan to be launching new products and services that will complement the current auction programme and provide customers with new valet options to maximize residual values.”

Manheim manages its own valeting requirements at its other sites.
