Kwik-Fit has appointed Mike Wise to temporarily co-ordinate all its core UK fast-fit activities following parent company CVC Capital Partners’ acquisition of the AA in conjunction with fellow private equity group Permira Advisers for £1.75bn.

The appointment of Wise, who has been Kwik-Fit’s fleet sales director since November 2002 after CVC Capital Partners’ acquisition of the fast-fit company, follows the departure of Kwik-Fit chief executive Tim Parker to fill a similar role at the AA.

As a result of Wise’s temporary move to head-up Kwik-Fit (GB), Nigel Davies, Kwik-Fit Fleet’s, director of corporate accounts who has been with the company for more than 11 years, will take interim responsibility for fleet business along with Chris Higgins, Kwik-Fit Fleet’s finance director.

Other senior management changes within Kwik-Fit as a result of Parker’s move to become non-executive deputy chairman of the fast-fit giant include finance director Ken McGill taking over responsibility for the company’s European business and Kwik-Fit Financial Services.

Kwik-Fit operations director Paul Boulton, who will report to Wise, will continue to head up retail operations.

Kwik-Fit chairman Sir Trevor Chinn also became chairman of the AA.
