Nationwide Autocentres is investing more than £500,000 in technology and training to support an increasing level of fleet and retail repair business passing through the group’s centres.

The company, awarded AM’s UK Repairer of the Year for the second year running in 2004, will complete its programme of investment within the next few months.

All 180 Nationwide Autocentres across the UK are being equipped with OmiScan diagnostic devices and software from Omitec to provide them with a wide range of diagnostic capabilities. The business is also completing a roll-out of a fleet of 15 mobile technical support units equipped with Delphi DS500E diagnostic tools.

The new equipment is in support of technical knowledge already being provided by the company at its IMI accredited training centre in Olton, and at Delphi’s training school in Leamington.

Director Gwyn Jones says the investment will mean Nationwide Autocentres will be able to offer a wide ranging and highly effective diagnostic service to all its customers.
