Visteon is pushing hard in its drive to become a leading player in the mobile electronics aftermarket, according to its UK and Ireland aftermarket sales manager Stuart Jackson.

Since the company announced a raft of Visteon-branded in-car entertainment products in July, it has arranged online distribution and direct retail sales via Car Audio Plus and is in the final stages of arranging national distribution through Automonitor Mobile Media in Leicester.

By October, the business is due to have on board a third distributor, Automotive Styling in Harrow. In addition, Jackson hopes to have six active independent sales agents operating across the country by December to sell Visteon’s ICE products to the trade.

“We’re going to hit our target,” says Jackson. “At this stage we’re not concerned about how many sales we achieve, more about founding a solid distribution system.”

Jackson says the range is designed to appeal to both the young car enthusiast and the family buyer.

Nevertheless, Visteon aims to increase its global aftermarket turnover by 10% a year through increased sales in mobile electronics and quality replacement parts. Latest additions include MP3 stereos and a portable dockable in-car DVD compatible with Visteon’s digital TV tuner, plus air-conditioning condensers and lighting systems.
