Every franchised UK dealership will be visited during a six-day marathon drive next month that aims to raise more than £250,000 for industry charity BEN.

The project is the brainchild of brothers David and Gordon Bush, directors of the Bush2 automotive recruitment and training consultancy. Using 17 vehicles loaned by MG Rover, their team has set itself the target of visiting all 6000 franchised showrooms.

The cars, manned by Bush2 staff and representatives of the project’s sponsors, who include a strong contingent from the motor industry, will be seen off from MG Rover’s Longbridge plant by Australian model Imogen Bailey on the morning of Monday, October 4. Each car is scheduled to visit an average of 58 dealerships per day. Gifts supplied by sponsors will be auctioned during visits.

The Bush brothers admit one aim is to raise the profile of their business, but they maintain the main goal is to enhance the public’s perception of the motor trade by fundraising for BEN.
