Work has finished on a £1.4m re-development of Patterson Motor Group’s Shiremoor dealership.

The dealership has been completely modernised with a new reception area, café and leather seating. Re-structuring work has been carried out to the exterior of the building, which now boasts the new Ford signage.

The re-development is part of a multi-million pound investment programme by the Newcastle-based motor retailer. The programme will see the re-vamp of Patterson’s three dealerships across the region in line with Ford’s newly updated retail look and style.

Earlier this year, the Scotswood Road dealership benefited from a brand new £3m accident repair centre – believed to be the largest of its kind in the North East – and a new £200,000 Seat showroom. Early next year the dealership will enter phase two of its investment programme, which will see improvements made to the Ford showroom and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile Patterson has also invested over £70,000 to give its Hexham dealership a radical facelift.

The Shiremoor dealership has an annual turnover of £22m and sells around 1,800 new and used cars per year.

Terry Hunter, service manager at Patterson’s Shiremoor dealership, said: 'The investment represents a major step forward for our business here at Shiremoor. It will allow us to offer a more attractive environment for customers and staff and early feedback has been really positive.'
