GM Daewoo has recalled 734 of its Matiz models due to an airbag fault.

Airbag inflation equipment on the fault cars was found to pop out along with the airbag when it was deployed upon collision.

All cars affected were produced between July 1 and October 18, 2004.

A GM Daewoo UK spokesperson said: “We were informed of the recall on Friday, but are unsure if any of the defective models have reached Europe.

“The defective cars are most likely to have been distributed in the Asian market.”
