A husband and wife team with no motor industry experience intend to “revolutionise” car servicing and MoT with a new business in Southampton.

Pure Service has been established by Tom and Tracy Docherty. Tom is an ex-Sony manager, while wife Tracy is a former pre-school assistant. Motor industry experience is provided by service manager Mark Adamson, an ex-Land Rover dealer, Faye Brindley, an ex-Seat dealer, and the service technician team.

The business uses automated MoT testing equipment and features a club lounge with internet access together with a chauffeur service to and from the local WestQuay shopping complex.

“We wanted to revolutionise car servicing making it less disruptive and more enjoyable for motorists,” says chief executive Tom Docherty. “Location, comfort, convenience and enjoyment are our priorities.”

Pure Service can service all makes of car on a while-you-wait basis, using OE-approved parts, and customers can book their service online. Docherty hopes that its location, plus the chauffeur service, will prove attractive. He claims there is “no other facility like this in the country”.
