Volvo has gone all hip and produced an iPod adapter and ‘digital jukebox’ as accessories for its range.

The new Apple iPod adapter plays driver’s music through the car's audio system. The iPod sits in the centre arm rest and can be controlled by the car’s standard or steering wheel remote controls.

The connection also charges the iPod while driving.

The adapter is priced at £107, plus fitting and is available on all S60 and S80 saloons, the V70 estate and the XC70 AWD estate.

Alternatively, drivers can choose to listen to there music through Volvo’s ‘digital jukebox’.

Developed with automotive sound company ‘Phatnoise’, it enables up to 400 CDs to be stored on a 20GB cartridge which slots into a unit similar to a multi-CD changer.

This can be connected via a docking station to a PC. Here music can be managed through a ‘Phatnoise music manager’. It costs £582 and is available on the same models as the iPod adapter.
