Opti-rent, Global Self Drive and Autotravel have placed orders with vanmaker LDV for its new Maxus.

The deals are worth £6.5m and follow recent purchases from TLS and Europcar, bringing the total value of orders to £10m.

Additionally, LDV has vehicles on test with the Royal Mail and has collaborated with RAC Utilities Services and Siemens VDO Trading to create a multi-functional Maxus aimed at the utilities and rail industry sectors.

Tony Lewis, LDV’s executive director of sales and marketing says: “Naturally we are extremely pleased with these orders, and feel they are a great basis for the future.

Our dealers are doing a fantastic job and have whole-heartedly supported the new launch.”

Lewis cites the company’s inclusive relationship with its dealers as being at the heart of this success. “We conduct an extensive consultation process with our network, where strategies are not only shared, but also developed,” he says.

An added attraction for customers is LDV’s VANfit service. Launched three years ago, it offers members a range of 3,000 parts, with 90% coverage and a guaranteed ‘right first time’ policy.

Maxus was recently voted ‘Best Van’ by Professional Van & Light Truck magazine.
