MG Rover parts distributor, Xpart, says it is negotiating with PricewaterhouseCoopers to solve a problem affecting one part of the 25 series tailgate.

XPart says Rover 25 body panels are all readily available save for one tailgate fixture which was installed at Longbridge after delivery of pressings by Stadco – which is closing its Coventry plant, but has not failed financially.

XPart is actively negotiating with MG Rover administrators to obtain both the tooling for the missing part and finished stock held up at Longbridge, while it plans a secondary source for the part for the long term.

Overall, XPart says ex-stock parts availability for the MG Rover range is now 96% - the highest level ever since the CAT Logistics-owned operation took over MG Rover’s parts distribution in 2004.
