Drivers caught eating behind the wheel could face a fine of up to £500, after police forces are clamping down on drivers that read, drink or munch whilst driving.
Research undertaken by the Allen & Allen Group, has revealed that one in three road users do not realise that it is illegal to eat and drive.
As well as landing a fine for eating, drivers also face gaining points on their license and a subsequent rise in insurance costs.
