General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) has announced the appointment of Barry Willson as UK brand manager.

Willson was previously UK national commercial manager for GMAC. He has more than 20 years’ experience within the company in a number of senior sales and marketing positions. Prior to joining GMAC, Willson spent seven years in the Royal Navy.

In his new role Willson will be responsible for the development of retail finance programmes for General Motors’ network of franchised dealers and for supporting sales of the GM marques in the UK - Vauxhall, Chevrolet and Saab. His responsibilities will include the development of new finance products, advertising, point-of-sale material and the provision of effective business support services for dealers.

Willson succeeds Dennis Foley, who has moved to the role of GMAC brand relationship manager, Europe.
