AM100-listed dealer group Hartwell has launched an online sales site, www.bestpricecar.com, offering new and used cars.

The company says it is determined to become the UK’s number one car online car retailer.

Ian Godbold, e-commerce manager of Hartwell says: "The only negative issue for car buyers is that they need more reassurance than other online purchasers.

"This is where www.bestpricecar.com comes into its own, as buyers have the security of knowing their cars are being supplied by one of the UK’s leading dealer groups.

"Hartwell has built up considerable experience of selling cars online through its co-operation with Auto Trader and now has one of the lowest costs per sale in the industry, meaning that its prices are fully competitive with on-line only retailers."

To ensure maximum returns from its internet investment, Hartwell has run e-commerce workshops for its dealerships and has appointed web specialists to handle all online leads.

The website features independent road tests, information on all current manufacturer offers on new cars, the ability to register to get alerts for particular vehicles, online service and test drive booking and finance advice.

Planned enhancements include affiliations with other car-buying websites and the ability to buy accessories online. Video footage of the cars is also planned.
