Automotive Skills has launched its new Sector Skills Agreement (SSA) website, to help improve the way training is approached in the motor industry.

The site will provide information on why employers and individuals who operate within this sector should be involved with the SSA.

Automotive Skills says: “We would like to encourage all the stakeholders of the motor industry to actively take part in this process. It presents employers, training providers and any interested parties with an ability to influence the decisions surrounding the development of the SSA ensuring the outcomes will be representative of the sector’s real business needs.”

The SSA is a deal between employers, providers, stakeholders and the Government, aimed at changing how skills are recognised, developed and delivered in the motor industry. It will identify employer and workforce skills needs and determine how they can be satisfied to improve the productivity and performance of businesses in the sector.
