Oxfordshire-based Dream Car Hire was founded in January by 30-year-old multi-millionaire Covin Graeff. It has four models on the fleet – Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari 360 Modena, Aston Martin DB9 and Porsche 911 Turbo S Carbio – which can be delivered throughout the UK fully prepared and insured.
From this month, the company is starting to mailshot dealers with proposals for using the cars as an incentive tool for top performing sales staff. It believes the service will especially appeal to retailers in the volume franchised sector.
“Dealers already offer their staff incentives like weekends away – giving them a nice car to go away in will add to that offer,” says Southgate, who works with Dream Car Hire one day a week.
“It’s also more noticeable when other staff see the car turn up in the car park. That will incentivise the whole team.”
Website prices are £750 a day, but Southgate says “substantial discounts” will be available to retailers, particularly if they book cars for a week or more.
Dream Car Hire claims its unique selling proposition is the quality of its collection and delivery service, with uniformed handove staff. It also claims excellent availability, even for same-day delivery, and has the funding to go out and buy more models to ensure the business can keep up with demand.
