Sussex joins the business from Saxon, where he was sales director. In his 20 year career he has held managerial roles with a number of automotive companies including Wynns, Valeo, Hawker Batteries and Fram.
At Maccess, Sussex will be responsible for setting its marketing strategy and leading its marketing and sales teams, and call centres. He will report to managing director Douglas Waddell.
“I want Maccess to become the only sensible choice of supplier for businesses that wish to operate efficient stock levels with frequent replenishment, and generate minimum administration,” says Sussex. “We can help them buy at good prices, sell at good margins and spend time with their customers rather than their suppliers.”
Independent aftermarket parts suppliers are coming under increasing pressure from vehicle manufacturers that operate trade clubs supplying original equipment parts to independent repairers. Sussex hopes his experience will be invaluable in taking Maccess forward to “meet these challenges head on”.
