MG Rover Assistance, provided by the manufacturer and supported by the AA, is to end on August 16.

Before the British carmaker collapsed it provided 12 months UK breakdown assistance with all new vehicles and the AA is concerned to ensure that all those affected are made aware of the change.

AA customers known to run MGs and Rovers in their fleet are being contacted over the next week to inform them of the possible implications, but the AA is concerned that there will be many more drivers left vulnerable.

Companies that have an existing AA account manager should contact them directly if they have any enquiries. Otherwise fleet managers can ring a free phone number 0800 55 11 88 to discuss the situation.

David Wallace, director of AA Business Services, says: “We are very keen to help those businesses affected in whatever way we can. It is regrettable that this service cannot continue, but we are more than happy to support customers by giving them advice on the options open to them and, if requested, by providing alternative cover.”
