Helphire Group, the Bath-based accident management assistance company, has posted strong results for 2004.

The acquisition of Albany, specialists in uninsured loss recovery, also boosted figures with operating profits increasing by 73% to £14.4m and turnover up by 57% to £118m.

Helphire has now fully integrated Albany into the business and the policyholder base is generating in excess of 2,000 hires per month. Angel Assistance, the legal expenses arm of the business continues to grow, with more than 600,000 policyholders, while hires to these grew by 10% to 15,000.

Customer satisfaction, which is monitored monthly, was maintained at a rate of 98% satisfied or very satisfied throughout the year.

“This has been another excellent year for Helphire,” says Helphire chairman Michael J Symons, who retired at the end of June. The board is now looking for a non-executive chairman. Richard Burrell has been appointed as acting chairman in the interim.

“Growth in turnover of 57% has resulted from a greater level of referrals from existing sources, the addition of new key accounts and the acquisition of Albany. We are optimistic that further growth can be generated in the current financial year,” adds Symons.
