Internet solution provider Epyx has launched the 1link Disposal Network, which allows dealers to locate the stock they want from leasing and fleet companies, even before vehicles are defleeted.

The company has already signed up LeasePlan and is in the process of finalizing agreements with a further two major leasing companies which will sign up in September. It aims to convince all 40 UK vehicle leasing companies that already use 1link fleet products to adopt the system. This could mean more than two million used vehicles available.

The internet-based system is also being offered to the 10,000 franchise dealers and garages that currently use 1link software and Epyx.

Leasing companies can list cars that are due to be defleeted while dealers are then able to search the database by make and model, even specifying factors such as colour and mileage. They are also able to bid for or buy vehicles before they return to the leasing company. If a specific vehicle is not listed, dealers can request to be notified when one is.

“We believe that the 1link Disposal Network has huge potential, allowing fleets to take a much more strategic view of their disposals, and will also allow car dealers to locate the exact stock they want more easily,” says Ken Trinder, head of business development at Epyx.
