Applications are being invited for the Automotive Academy's new Best Practice Programme being launched this October.

It will show delegates from the automotive supply chain, training providers and other interested parties examples of excellence in business management in UK automotive manufacturing.

The five-day programme is made up of a series of themed workshops and company visits to the likes of Nissan in Sunderland, TI Automotive in Telford, Kautex Unipart in Coventry and, for a non-automotive perspective, Electrolux in Co. Durham.

Each visit will show aspects of process management such as cost engineering, lean accounting, problem solving, lean manufacturing and e-procurement. Experts will also join the group over dinner each evening for discussion.

Applications are now open for the first programme to be run between October 17 - 21, with a second running from November 14 - 18.

The delegate rate of £2,500 includes all the course materials, transportation between venues, bed and breakfast accommodation and dinner.
