Motorpoint, the UK car supermarket group, has increased sales by 5% across its four locations, despite a downward market trend of 5%*.

David Shelton, Motorpoint managing director said: "We are delighted to have bucked the trend and our performance confirms that our product offering of a wide range of makes and models at very competitive prices is precisely what the customer is looking for."

Motorpoint sold 650 vehicles in the first week of 2006, this follows the announcement that Motorpoint has been awarded Black Horse approved dealer platinum status.
