The Volkswagen retailer group, which completed its management buy-out from former parent company HR Owen in March, is making the investment together with Volkswagen UK.
Due to open in December, the 20-bay, 1,186sq m centre will provide general servicing, MoTs and tyre servicing. Opening hours will be extended from 06:00am to 10:00pm on weekdays, 08:00am to 04:00pm on Saturdays and 10:00am to 04:00pm on Sundays.
A new coffee lounge has been fitted with wireless broadband and plasma televisions, which Jonathan Smith, managing director at Citygate Volkswagen, says makes it the first of its kind in the UK. “We continuously look for ways to improve our service. Our new facility will enable customers to avoid disruption to their normal day through its broad opening hours, while providing a comfortable environment for service while you wait, he says.”
Citygate Volkswagen has dealerships at Colindale in London, Chalfton and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, Ruislip in Middlesex and Watford, Hertfordshire.
In addition it has a van retail centre at its Colindale site and a trade parts service for Volkswagen, Audi and Seat from its High Wycombe and Colindale premises.
