Kwik-Fit has announced an expansion drive on the back of healthy profits under its new French private equity owner PAI.

The fast fit chain plans to open another 50 outlets in the UK and will further broaden the services on offer. Having conducted 250,000 MoTs last year, the group added air conditioning unit recharging to its portfolio. It now plans to offer windscreen replacements, following success in both Holland and France.

The group has also announced its intention to open 35 outlets a year in Germany.

Finance director Michael Healy says Kwik-Fit is on track to grow again this year following a 9% increase in profit last year to £63m and a 6% rise in sales to £789m.

In July last year Kwik-Fit Fleet announced a redevelopment and expansion of its fleet service centre to meet increasing demand from contract hire and leasing companies for its services.

Later that month leasing and contract hire company, Lex, extended its fast-fit contract with Kwik-Fit Fleet for three years.
