The Institute of the Motor Industry’s Top Technician 2007 competition is still open for entries.

All technicians have to do is answer a 20 question paper before the January 10 deadline.

The winner will gain free Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA), £2,000 tax free prize money, sponsor goodies and publicity for his or her workshop.

The 36 highest scorers will be invited to attend ATA assessments at regional heats in February. Successful technicians will be given a second question paper; the highest scoring 12 will then be invited to the live finals held April 24-26 at the Automotive Trade Show, Birmingham NEC. The winner of Top Technician 2007 will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in June.

If you know a fault-finding fiend, or are yourself a diagnostic demon, then nominate or enter now.

Question papers are available via www.toptechnician.co.uk and can also be requested by calling Sally on 01634 261262 or by emailing sally@toptechnician.co.uk

Top Technician 2007 is sponsored by Bosch and Vauxhall Trade Club. This year's technical partners are the Institute of the Motor Industry (the governing body for ATA) and MototeK.
